Supervisor Barger lobbies for Altadena in Washington as local aid expands at home
The recovery effort is getting attention in high places and on the ground.
This week, Supervisor Kathryn Barger traveled to Washington, D.C. to advocate for additional federal support following the Eaton Fire. She led a bipartisan congressional roundtable discussion on wildfire disaster recovery, emphasizing the urgency of federal assistance for communities still reeling from recent wildfires.
“Our communities are still reeling from the aftermath of recent wildfires, and it is our collective responsibility to ensure they are not left behind in the recovery process... We cannot afford to normalize disasters. We must strengthen our federal partnerships to better prepare, respond, and recover. Lives and livelihoods depend on that.”

Free Chainsaw Work and Debris Removal
is now being offered to eligible homeowners through the national disaster relief nonprofit Crisis Cleanup and local partners. This time-limited program focuses on helping under-resourced survivors by clearing both vegetative and non-vegetative debris.

Meanwhile, debris removal efforts are progressing rapidly.
